How Podia’s fees work

What Podia costs depends less on how much you sell than on which plan you sell it from, and the plan that still takes a cut is a paid one.

The entry plan charges twice

Mover carries a monthly subscription and takes a share of every sale on top of it. Podia confirms the fee survives annual billing too; only the two plans above are cut-free.

The cut never reaches an invoice

Podia deducts its share from each sale before the money gets to you, so nothing about it appears through your billing cycle. It arrives as smaller payouts rather than a line on a bill.

At some volume the upgrade wins

A percentage grows with revenue while a subscription stands still, so past a certain point Shaker costs less than staying on Mover. Set your monthly sales above to see what Mover’s cut comes to.

The price covers a whole stack

Podia bundles course hosting, community and email marketing into one product, so its plans stand in for several tools at once. A fair comparison weighs the cut against everything it replaces.

What Podia charges on a sale

Every rate the calculator uses, linked to the Podia page it came from. The Podia alternatives list quotes the same charges in Podia’s own words, with the dates each one was read, and says where its sellers go.

Mover$49.00 a month

Shaker$99.00 a month

No per-sale charge on this plan. What it costs is the subscription above.

Earthquaker$179.00 a month

No per-sale charge on this plan. What it costs is the subscription above.

Podia fee questions

It depends on the plan. Mover, the entry tier, takes a share of every sale on top of its subscription, while Shaker and Earthquaker charge nothing per sale at all. Pick a plan in the calculator above and it prices each one against your own monthly revenue.

One of them does. Mover is a paid plan that still carries a transaction fee, and Podia states plainly that it applies whether you bill monthly or annually. The fee only disappears once you reach Shaker, so a Podia subscription on its own is no guarantee you have stopped paying per sale.

Because Podia takes it out of each sale’s revenue before the money reaches you, which its help centre says outright and which is quoted in the breakdown below. The cost is just as real; it leaves quietly through your payouts instead of arriving as an invoice you would notice and question.

Once your monthly sales grow to where Mover’s cut is larger than the price gap between the two plans. Where that crossover sits depends entirely on your revenue, which is what the calculator above exists to answer, so set it to what you actually make in a month.

Email contacts. Every Podia plan includes a fixed allowance of them, and a list that outgrows it becomes a paid add-on charged on top of the plan price. If built-in email is part of why you are choosing Podia, price the allowance you would really need rather than the sticker price alone.

Nothing per sale, on any plan, and the free plan is genuinely free rather than an entry tier with a cut attached. Its limits are capacity instead of rates: 500 MB of storage, 50 MB as the largest file you can sell, and a custom domain that waits for Pro. Upgrading buys headroom, never a lower rate, because there is no rate to lower.
