How Payhip’s fees work

Payhip sells one product at three prices, and what changes between them is the rate on each sale, so the whole decision comes down to arithmetic the calculator above does for you.

One rate, no small print

Payhip’s cut is a plain percentage of the price with nothing fixed added on top, so a cheap product gives up the same share of each sale as an expensive one.

The monthly fee buys the rate down

Paying for a plan lowers the percentage, and the top plan removes it. Whether that trade wins depends entirely on how much you sell, which is what the monthly sales figure above settles.

Every plan is the whole product

Payhip gates nothing behind the paid tiers. Its pricing page says outright that the free plan gets every feature, and that is unusually clean pricing worth crediting.

Some tax paperwork leaves with it

Payhip acts as a marketplace facilitator in the US and handles EU VAT for European buyers, so part of the tax burden is off your desk on every plan alike.

What Payhip charges on a sale

Every rate the calculator uses, linked to the Payhip page it came from. The Payhip alternatives list quotes the same charges in Payhip’s own words, with the dates each one was read, and says where its sellers go.

A percentage of each sale, set by the plan you are on. The free plan carries the highest rate, the middle plan a lower one, and the top plan drops it entirely. Payhip adds no fixed amount per transaction, so the share it keeps stays the same whatever you charge. Put your own price and volume into the calculator above to see it as money rather than as a rate.

There is no monthly bill on the free plan, and Payhip puts no ceiling on products or revenue there. What you pay instead is the transaction rate, which grows with everything you sell. That makes the plan cheapest while your store is small and steadily more expensive exactly as it starts to work.

When the monthly fee costs less than the slice of revenue it saves you. Because the plans differ only in rate, the arithmetic is unusually clean: past one level of monthly sales the middle plan undercuts free, and further up the top plan undercuts both. Set your own price and monthly sales above to see what the free plan is costing you.

No. Payhip’s pricing page says there is no feature gating and that even the free plan gets access to everything. The plans differ in a single respect, the share of each sale Payhip keeps, which is why this page is a calculator and a feature comparison would have nothing to compare.

Payhip’s pricing page says sales are deposited immediately after a transaction completes. There is no Payhip balance for money to sit in and no payout minimum published, because the money from a sale does not pass through Payhip on its way to you.

Nothing per sale, on every plan including the free one. There is no rate to buy down, so the crossover question this page exists to answer never comes up. What the free plan limits is capacity rather than cost: 500 MB of storage, files up to 50 MB, and a custom domain arrives when you upgrade to Pro.
