ByteSell vs Billgang

Published
July 31, 2026

TL;DR

Billgang’s free Core plan charges 2.9% plus $0.07 on every sale. The forever-zero fees in Billgang’s headline only arrive on the Scale plan at $299 a month.

ByteSell charges 0% from your first sale on every plan, and the lowest plan is free. There is no volume threshold to clear and no upgrade that makes the fee go away, because there is no fee. This page compares Billgang Core, the plan you actually land on, against ByteSell Free. The calculator has Scale in its dropdown if you are already on it.

On the published rates, ByteSell Free charges less than Billgang at every volume, at an average order value of $50. There is no revenue figure where the other one comes out cheaper.

What the free plan actually costs

Billgang’s free Core plan is $0 to open and carries a 2.9% plus $0.07 fee on every sale. That is an ordinary rate for a hosted store, and Billgang prints it plainly on the pricing table. The catch is that on the free plan it never reaches zero.

ByteSell charges 0% from your first sale on every plan. There is no threshold to clear and no per-sale cut waiting in the fine print, because the rate is simply zero. So on price the whole difference is this: Billgang’s free plan takes 2.9% of each sale, and getting to zero is a paid upgrade.

What forever-zero actually costs

Billgang’s headline is forever-zero fees. The qualifier lives further down the same page.

Billgang does not charge any fees for transactions or payments processed through its platform on a paid Scale or Enterprise subscription plan.
billgang.com/payments

Scale is $299 a month, with an automatic fifteen percent discount if you commit to a year up front, and Enterprise is variable pricing on an annual commitment. So forever-zero exists, and it is sold as a premium feature with a real price on it.

ByteSell treats 0% as the baseline instead. The free plan, Pro at $29 and Business at $99 all charge 0% on every sale at any volume. Here, zero is the starting line.

Where the money moves

Billgang’s checkout rails are broad. You link your own Stripe account, and alongside it Billgang supports PayPal, Cash App, Square, Tap Payments, Telegram Stars, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus twelve cryptocurrencies through Billgang Pay, which runs on Hoodpay. If your buyers live on rails like those, that coverage is useful today.

ByteSell connects your own Stripe and PayPal, and crypto payments settle straight into your own wallet. Nothing sits in a ByteSell balance on the way, which is why none of the usual mechanics apply to it: no payout day, no minimum to clear, no reserve. More local processors are on our roadmap, and until they ship we say so instead of listing them as if they were live.

Storefronts, gating and delivery

The storefront story is close to symmetrical. Billgang gives you a custom domain or a hosted bgng.io subdomain, and an embed.js snippet to put products on your own site. ByteSell gives you a custom domain or a mybyte.app subdomain, embeddable checkout, and something Billgang does not advertise: fully custom coded themes, so your store can carry your own design down to the code. Both platforms gate Discord and Telegram memberships, with access granted on payment and revoked when the subscription lapses.

On delivery, Billgang’s serial tooling is strong. ByteSell’s answer is delivery security: every PDF you sell can be stamped with the buyer’s identity, and checkout traffic can be filtered by user agent, VPN, Tor and proxy detection, and blacklists for emails, domains and disposable addresses. There is also a built-in live chat with your buyers, which is no small thing when a refund question is the difference between a chargeback and a customer.

Everything Billgang charges

ByteSell takes 0% per sale and nothing to pay you out, because your buyers pay your own Stripe, PayPal or wallet directly. Here is what Billgang charges, each line quoted from its own pages with a link to where it was read.

Where Billgang is the better choice

Billgang carries several things ByteSell does not.

  • Regional payment rails, today

Tap Payments, Cash App, Square, Apple Pay and Telegram Stars, live now. ByteSell is Stripe, PayPal and crypto.

  • Twelve coins through Billgang Pay

A wider crypto list than most hosted stores carry.

  • Serial delivery with duplicate removal

Billgang strips duplicate keys from a list automatically. ByteSell does not.

  • Referral and cashback rewards

Buyer-facing referrals and cashback. ByteSell pays sellers, not buyers.

Which one to pick

Billgang is the right answer when your buyers pay through rails ByteSell does not carry today, like Cash App, Tap Payments or Telegram Stars.

ByteSell is the cheaper answer if you want 0% from the first sale at no monthly cost, with money that lands in your own Stripe, PayPal or wallet and no platform balance in the middle. Billgang’s free plan takes 2.9% of every sale and its zero rate costs $299 a month, and ByteSell sits below that on every plan.

ByteSell is in early access, so that link goes to the signup list rather than a checkout. The plans and limits described here match the ByteSell pricing page, which has the full breakdown.
