Billgang's fees, explained: who actually gets 0%
Billgang advertises zero fees. Its own pricing page puts 0% on the $299 a month Scale plan, while free stores pay a variable fee its fine print describes as roughly 0.9 to 2.9% plus $0.07 per transaction. Every figure here is quoted from Billgang's own pages.

TL;DR
Billgang's 0% is real, on the plans that cost money. The homepage headline "Zero fees" carries a footnote limiting it to paid subscriptions, and the free Core plan pays a variable per-transaction fee. If you sell enough volume, $299 a month for Scale can genuinely beat paying a percentage. If you are small, the free plan's fee range is what you are actually signing up for.
The fee stack, from their own pages
The homepage makes the headline claim, with the qualification in its own footnote:
Billgang does not charge any fees for transactions or payments processed through its platform on a paid Scale or Enterprise subscription plan.
The pricing page lists three plans: Core at "$0 to get started", Scale at "$299 per month", and Enterprise at variable pricing, with a 15% discount for annual commitment on Scale. The free plan's transaction fee appears in the fine print:
If your business is not on a paid subscription, you'll still be charged a variable transaction fee of roughly 0.9-2.9% plus $0.07 per transaction.
Note the word variable. The plan card shows 2.9% plus $0.07, the fine print says roughly 0.9 to 2.9%, and nothing on the page states which rate a given store gets. Some quick arithmetic from their own numbers: at the 2.9% top of the range, Scale's $299 pays for itself at about $10,300 of monthly volume; at 0.9% the breakeven is about $33,200 a month. Below whichever figure applies to you, the free plan's percentage is the cheaper option; above it, the subscription is.
Where Billgang is genuinely strong
It is the most built-out platform in its niche. The product sells "anything digital": license keys, subscriptions, private content, with a long list of payment methods including cryptocurrency options. The company states that "nearly 7,500+ businesses sell their digital products" on it and claims "99.98% platform health status averaged over the past 120 days", both its own figures. For a seller who wants an actively developed, feature-dense storefront in this market and has the volume to justify Scale, it is a serious option.
What to double-check before signing up
Your actual fee on the free plan
The published range spans 0.9% to 2.9%, a 3x spread. Get the rate for your store in writing before you plan margins around it.
The crypto payout path
Billgang's payments page lists Hoodpay among its cryptocurrency options, yet hoodpay.io itself does not currently resolve (no DNS record). If crypto settlement matters to your business, verify the whole path from checkout to your wallet before migrating.
The commitment math
0% requires $299 a month, every month, and the annual discount requires an annual commitment. If your volume is seasonal or uncertain, compute both scenarios against the free plan's range first.
How ByteSell compares
ByteSell charges 0% on every plan, including the free one, because it never touches the money at all: cards run on your own Stripe or PayPal and crypto settles to your own wallet. There is no volume threshold to earn the 0% and no variable range to guess at. The side-by-side, with every Billgang figure sourced the same way as this article, is at ByteSell vs Billgang, and the pricing page has the whole fee story in one place.
